MotoGP

What a fantastic race last weekend from Jerez. Poor little Sete Gibernau hurt his shoulder when Valentino Rossi attempted to ram him off the track! Yes, ram him off the track. He was so out of control going into the last corner, that if Gibernau hadn't been there, Rossi would have ended up in the gravel!
Gibernau needs to stand up to Rossi and tell him that if he tries that again he'll get a severe beating.
Is Biaggi past it? 34 now and so far off the pace last weekend that he finished the race on Monday!

Estoril this weekend, one o'clock on EuroSport (if you can tear yourself away from the Football), or sometime later on the BBC, who have a very busy day. Apart from the aforementioned football, they also have the London Marathon to cover.

If you can't watch the race live, keep up with all the action on The MotoGP Website.

World Touring Car Championship

Am I just an old fart, or is this really shit? I mean, two 9 lap races at Monza for the opening round! The last WTCC in 1987 had 500km races with pit stops, two drivers and was a much greater test of driver. 1987 and only WTCC champion Roberto Ravaglia must be wishing he was still driving. How will this years champion be able to mention himself in the same breath as the great "Bob Ravioli" is beyond me.
For a look back at the original (and for me only) WTCC have a gander at Frank de Jong's website and marvel at the photo on the opening page. This site is a history of the European Touring Car Championship during its heyday and brings back so many memories for an old fart like me!
